Display pond restoration & renovation service at paradise marine center
serving gulf shores, the alabama gulf coast & baldwin county (AL)
The Team at Gulf Coast Aquascape were recently consulted to perform a display pond renovation and restoration service on an existing Aquascape ecosystem pond. This Pond renovation took place on the Alabama gulf coast, located in Baldwin county at Paradise Marine Center in Gulf Shores, (AL). After 16+ years of successful operation, the signature entrance way pond that greeted customers was ready for an upgrade.
As the original builder 16+ years ago....
we were excited for the OPPORTUNITY to give this feature an upgrade.

The ecosystem pond is the centerpiece of the dealership at Paradise Marine Center. Located directly within the entrance way to the showroom and service center.
It is also the home to a unique collection of Large Mouth Bass, Brim & Koi. Yes they do coexist!
However, Big Girl (pictured posing with her mouth wide open)
is a 6lb + hand fed fish, that loves shrimp.
Gulf Coast Aquascape developed a plan to make this a more suitable habitat for the fish, as well as create a spectacular design for Paradise Marine Center.

complete rebuild was the best choice.
Gulf Coast Aquascape determined the best ROI for our client would be to completely re build the ecosystem pond. Perception that the rock is already on site and the hole is dug is not always true when it comes to pricing. In many cases such as this pond renovation, the amount of labor is greatly increased due to handling of the materials (rock, gravel, & boulders) However, the final outcome was totally worth the investment.

Some of the existing hardware had shown signs of wear, and breakdown. By replacing the liner and filters will give this ecosystem pond many more years of successful operation.
We added a combination of professional design techniques and components that will offer a more sustainable system. The addition of more natural enhancements like; driftwood, stumps, boulders will create a habitat that will benefit the fish and the appearance. |
The transformation
Gulf Coast Aquascape designed the waterfalls to look and sound natural. The feature has a spring in the center that feeds the pond as well as beautiful waterfalls & streams. We incorporated a custom sub surface skimming system that looks amazing!
